Hi,
Just come across Bloomsbury Interactive Tax Planner, and wondered if anyone is using it and if so, how helpful they are finding it? Also, is anyone else looking at this with a view to integrating into their practice?
Thanks

Have a look at the demo

Looks quite useful, depends on the type of work you do.
Interactive Tax Planner
I think it is useful, I run a specialist firm of Chartered Tax Advisers and would recommend it to my accountancy firm clients. I think the key here is that for the "general practice" accountant the software can identify the key issues and save a lot of time for the client and the tax advisers.
I do not agree with the marketing that it will replace outsourced tax advice (I would say that I suppose as that is my business!), as you still need to have experience of the issues from a practical perspective otherwise you will send out the pro-forma letters, receive calls from clients and could struggle to answer the questions they ask.
In my humble opinion, for £250 it seems to represent excellent value.
I watched the demo
I was impressed by the demo. But I would really like to be able to see a full contents list somewhere. I am concerned that there are not too many areas covered, and whilst those that are may be great, if the coverage is not great it won't be that useful.
I appreciate that they plan to keep expanding it, but I would like to know what is in there now.
