building licences in UK

Didn't find your answer?

Hi all,

Is it possible to build a house without having a Self-certify building work registration in UK? Simply - build the house and have it approved by someone who is autorised to do so?

Thanks for any answers.

We are accountants

... not architects, surveyors, builders or local planners.

Yes

I think the OP is referring to the Self Build Scheme, rather than building competence.

You don't have to register for VAT, but it'll cost you 20% more if you don't.

(And you don't need any registrations or qualifications to build your own house. Some trades however must be registered to do the work. (Gas installers, Electricians)
