Cannot find link for DD on PAYE part of HMRC site

Cannot find link for DD on PAYE part of HMRC site

Didn't find your answer?

Client DD for PAYE was set up on HMRC website about 5 months ago and each month I just added another one.

This month I was invited to try the new HMRC option. I said yes, without thinking. Although there is an option for paying paye, and in that bit there is an instruction on setting up a DD, HMRC then have fun booting me out to the login screen again. I've logged in 3 times, trying to find other menu options that lead to the old DD screen but there aren't any.

Have you had the same problem and how have you got around it? I assume I will have to ask client to pay manually.

Meanwhile I will go to "customerservices" on Twitter to see what they say.

Same here!

I also foolishly agreed to try the new HMRC display option when dealing with a payroll client today.  I found that it takes many more clicks, but you get there in the end:

PAYE for Employers, click on 'Make a payment'

Click on 'More ways to pay', select 'Direct Debit (one-off payment)', click on Next

On the next screen, click on Next

... and voila!  The old 'Direct Debit payment' screen appears!

Thank you Euan!!

Dear Euan

It all worked as you said. Because it's so complicated I have pinned your excellent instructions on my noticeboard as I won't get it right on my own until I've had several more goes.

Considering HMRC's website is designed by nitwits who never have to use it and there is no official help at hand I should be very happy for some of my tax to go to you for solving this and many other problems in a quick and helpful way. Sadly, pigs might fly.

Thank you for rescuing me when you did. I am sure others will find your reply useful as well.
