CGT on PPR partly used as a business premise

CGT on PPR partly used as a business premise

Didn't find your answer?

Can anybody help, please?

I have a client who is in partnership with his wife. The facts are as follows:-

The property was purchased in 1991 as their matrimonial home.

Part of the premises was used as a surgery with effect from October 1997

The couple separated in June 2009 and the wife continued to live there.

They are now proposing to sell the house.

I appreciate that the part of the property used for the business will rank for Entrepreneurs Relief. However, I am unclear whether the 3 year exemption rule would apply to the business section leading up to the sale.

By the way, I think that this forum is fantastic.

Are you sure that Entrepreneur's Relief will be available?

Is the business still being carried on in the property?

Is the business ceasing?

EDIT - disregard my questions, I remember your previous related (I assume) posts
