Change of Tax Agent details

Change of Tax Agent details

Didn't find your answer?

I run a small practice as a sole trader. HMRC agent details are in my personal name but i would want to change Agent details to be in the name of practice. This is because i intend to work with another person either as partners or something alike but a single practice agent details. I just wondering whether this is possible. Im also concerned that if this happens, will i have to seek authorisation from all the clients again. Or is there a cleaner way of doing this.

Yes it is possible

and no you should not need to reauthorise if they are all to remain uner your enlarged firm's wing.

Login to your account at the Government Gateway and you should be able to change the details, including name, there.

No need

for re-applying under your practice name as you could change your details by logging into your online agent portal (as advised above).HMRC would then start sharing the information of all your exisiting and new clients with you(under your new practice details),its that simple.

Another good thing is that even your Agent Codes would still remain the same.

Hope this helps.
