Hi All,
Not quite a straight forward question but here goes....
I have a client (limited company) and one of the two directors, instead of travelling to their revolving work places, has a room in B&B during the week which saves them a couple of hours a day travelling and quite a few miles (something like 100-150 a day) which they now do not claim from their company, but is the B&B cost allowable (which is cheaper than claiming the mileage)?
Hope that makes sense
Thanks in anticipation.

Suspect that the answer is no and that they shouldn't have been claiming mileage either. However, it really depends on what you mean by " their revolving work places".
You need to consider if the workplaces are temporary, a person can have more than one permanent workplace. If not temporary then travel to and from them is not allowable, therefore the accommodation taken to avoid that travel is likewise not allowable.
