Clients registered address at my home but supplier threatening legal action

Clients registered address at my home but...

Didn't find your answer?

I only let clients use my home address as their registered address who I know well and whom can trust.  I agreed with this particular client as I know them well from past dealing

Their office address was in London but the director moved back to America and requested to use my address as the registered office.  They are international company around 100 people all over the world.

A few days ago received a letter address to my client from a supplier threatening legal action.  When I contacted the client, he cannot recall dealing with this company though I sure he could not remember as the trading name may have been different.

Surprising having googled this supplier, they have so many bad reviews and notorious for charging unsuspecting companies, there has been many complaints to trading standards. They way they do it is they offer a free trial and don't give any information how to cancel nor are you sent any reminders.  If you do not cancel within four weeks then you have to pay for a whole year which amounts to around £1500.  It is a scam despite it being clear in the Terms and Conditions over the cancellation policy

My concern is should the matter go to court and they win would it affect my own credit rating.

No. Shared addresses do not link credit files. Only shared financial arrangements, eg joint bank accounts.
