Company Car Insurance

Company Car Insurance

Didn't find your answer?

Hi all,

I am about to take delivery of a company car, but I can't find any websites where I can get the insurance through the company.

I obviously want the expense to go through the company.

I assume that the company paying for a policy taken out by me personally doesn't work, or does it?

If not, do you know what companies offer this insurance? (There will only be one vehicle)

I hope someone will be able to help.

Thank you in advance.

Telephone

a real person - Direct Line and Swintons come to mind.

Parkers Cars web site also has an insurance contact number and they give lots of information about company cars.

As you will not own the car I am not sure how you would be able to insure it

I take it it is your company?

Is this a 'one man' company, and one which is buying the car rather than leasing?

As Marion says, you don't have an insurable interest in the car, so couldn't take out the insurance in your name.

Do you have an existing insurance relationship that you could make enquiries through?

Alternatively, you could try moving your existing insurances to a new broker and combining a motor policy in the process.

Recently on this forum ....

Whoever owns the car has to take out the insurance.

It was mentioned recently in connection with incorporating a business and forgetting to transfer the insurances over.

It should be easy for the company to insure its own car. It can get trickier if you want to insure it in your name.

Speak to a decent broker.
