i am trying to contact HMRC to update a certificate of residence issued by HMRC for the Romanian tax authorities issued in 2012 ( yes they want another) last years telephone number doesnt work the fax isnt answered , what can one do

Write to the UK tax office, the address is usually on your tax return, I did that once got a certificate within 2 weeks

As it says at the top of the form, you have to write to the Liverpool address if you want a certificate for a company.
But thanks for the link - I had no idea you could apply online for individuals.

I haven't used the facility, but surprisingly among the list of recorded message button options given at the start of a recent call to the helpline (0300 200 3410) included one for Certificates of Residence.
