Controversial but can I say.....

Controversial but can I say.....

Didn't find your answer?

It really annoys me people (some on here but mostly in the tabloid media) refer to 9ameron/osborne Et alia as "rich" or "earning too much" when those same people are happy for footballers such as 1ayne Roone to earn more In one week than these politicians do in a year. It really annoys me that some people have massive double standards but having just had the same argument with a client who said "well the footballers deserve it" I just had to post....

Speaking as a lifelong Villa supporter....

I can think of some footballers who don't deserve their wages. Particularly as loyal back room staff at Villa Park are now facing the sack.

Sad times.

Referring to them as rich is accurate.

Does someone with no real world work experience deserve that salary? No in my opinion.

Does Wayne Rooney deserve £300k per week? No in my opinion.

I agree 100% with Cheeky. Neither the politician nor the footballer deserve it. I'd actually go as far as to say sportsmen and women in general don't deserve any salary/fee at all for that matter. They're only playing a game or taking part in recreational activity.

Unless someone wants to pay me to do my hobby?

And, who in the posts above (including the OP) has a Sky Sports subscription?

They are the people that are ultimately paying these mindless morons that cannot do anything other than kick a ball about, crash fast cars, and sh*g minors.

We don't (as taxpayers I mean) pay Footballer's salaries though so cant see the argument. The PM earns very little when compared to his mates in the banking sector though.

I disagree Portia.

Some footballers such as Rooney prefer the older lady.

Business decision surely

I always thought that the wages of sport people were based on a business decision by those that pay them. Like the fact hiring David Beckham for X amount per week guarantees you so many shirts sales, bums on seats at the ground and more likely to feature on SKY etc. This is why the likes of Nike pull the plug quickly when you are naughty.

Whether or not they are worth it to the man in the street is another but it must stack up to the paymasters.

I suppose it all goes wrong where you pay big money to people who turn out to be crap and dont deliver the expected benefits, which is the case at the once mighty NUFC who will have to re adjust their business plan when they drop out of the premiership.

With regards to salaries of Dave Cameron on the face of it he is poorly paid for running the country compared to what a CEO of a large company would be paid.

However what sticks in the throats of the man in the street is the under lying sleaze that comes with some of the things they do.

They are currently carving up the NHS to be private and you know full well most of those involved in the carve up will end up with big salaries, share options in private health care companies making the £100k per year they earn now small change to what they will earn post office.

Which job would you prefer?

I wouldn't take Cameron's job if I was offered £5 million a year.

Fruits of Labour.

My perception is that folk with huge earnings don't so much earn it from their own hard labour as from the hard labour of others.

I stopped my Sky Sports subscription because I was fed up of providing funds for overpaid footballers.  If Wayne Rooney wants me to watch him, let him pay for my subscription.

I can't abide football, and I can't abide Cameron and his rich mates. Not because the latter are rich, but because they are selfish, greedy ****s who think it's hilarious to shaft the poor and actually haven't got a clue about normal people - these are not the types of people who should be runnig the country and making rules for the majority of people.

Now I'm made to think about it, I am not sure what makes me angrier, Tories or how much footballers are paid. Both are indicative of something majorly wrong with society

If you're not doing your job properly none of us are worth whatever we're being paid and that includes not just the super rich but even those working for the NHS (and there are, disappointingly, more than you'd like to think...)
