Does HMRC provide any dedicated agents helpline telephone number?

No, although it used to have regional offices that were generally only called by agents so shortish waiting times. Now it has a call centre system where it is in with lots of other taxes, so you wait forever. In addition they only take messages and no one will speak to you direct, if it is a technical query. They say they will call back in 5 days. They don't. Eventually when 3 lots of 5 days ahd passed someone did call me to say the question was too technical and they didnt know the answer! When I moaned about the new system they said they had stats to show that half the people who call about corporation tax are business owners not agents. I find that hard to believe.
We Should have Agents lines for all
Due to the lengthy 20 -30 minutes waits on hold we have to have, whilst trying to earn a living, doing HMRC's work for them. I cannot understand why we are not give agents lines for VAT, Corporation Tax and PAYE. The agents line for SA works well, as although you do sometimes have to wait up to 3 days for a call back (and I have always received a call back). I have fairly often, been put straight through to a technician rather than having to wait. I have also found the people on the SA helpline, quite knowledgeable and helpful. However I agree with David Franks, that you can never get put straight through to a technician when calling the CT line, but I have always been called back. The problem for me with call backs, is that as I go out to clients towards the last couple of days of the week, when they call, I am not necessarily in my office, so don't have the figures or the information to hand, and I have to go full circle again. For this reason alone, I believe it does not work well for any of us and a dedicated line should be considered.

I contacted HMRC Agents SA helpline the other day and also had another client with CT issues, person could not help as said had no clue on CT but gave me Agent no for CT issues and issue was resolved with telephone call to them

That is not an agent number, it is the public number and is the funnel now for 101 different things. Can we ask what your issues was? On technical rather than clerical issues you are not permitted to speak to anyone and the procedure is someone will call you back within 5 days. They don't. Eventually after 3 or 4 calls someone got back to me, to tell me they couldn't answer my question as it was too technical. A farce.

My query was clerical not technical so accept was easily dealt with

Appreciate that but this thread is about the fact there is no agent line for corporation tax. I am not sure how you managed to be answered quickly, I have never been answered in less than 30 mins, Glad you had a better experience.
