CT600 online won't submit?

Didn't find your answer?

Hi,

Filled in the (horrid) CT600 form using Adobe, and got all the way to the end, only for it to fail on the final submission. This is the message I get:

"HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) apologise for the inconvenience but the systems are busy and HMRC are not yet able to confirm that your return has been successfully received.

Please save and close your form and reopen it later in order to confirm that HMRC has received your return.
If you need to contact the HMRC Online Services Helpdesk please follow the link below."

I've tried resubmitting several times, but always with this same result. It could be, I suppose, that their systems are too busy, and I am just not getting through and need to keep trying... But I thought I would check here and see if anyone else is having similar issues? Are your submissions getting through?

What does one do, if it will never work? Print the thing out and mail it to them? Its an unpleasant piece of technology to use, contains a few bugs I'm sure. Very frustrating for people who are too busy to waste time wrestling with it.

Thanks for your help.

Rupert

try later

I have not used the HMRC form so cannot comment but I have recently tried filing online using my taxcalc lnk. It wouldn't work for the same reason.

Tax calc - correctly - advised me to try later - and hey presto it worked.

If you try later tonight or early tomorrow it should be OK

I can't think why HMRC are having business (is that a word?) issues today - it must be Moira Stewart reminding people to file their Tax returns !!

Good luck

Very helpful response, thanks. If Tax Calc is also having issues, it sounds like trying later may work...

CT600 on line

What rubbish software.

I have adobe added but cannot update the 'trust' settings so cannot even complete.

When I get to 'Add to trusted identities' it is not clickable, any similar experience?

I managed to get the trust settings working, by being careful to install the recommended version of Adobe, and following the instructions as exactly as I could.

Still not got my submission to work btw. I'll try again soon, as tax office closed for hollidays, so that may explain why? I need to get onto their case and start complaining.
