Distribution and Administrative cost

Distribution and Administrative cost

Didn't find your answer?

Hi,

WE were using an accountant to do our companies accounts last year. This year I am hoping to do it myself as I am newly qualified. We can't use the HMRC filing, as the company has R&D expenditure. I purchased tax filer as a software to file the CT600. I am just in a process of producing the accounts and a bit confused. Our old accountant put motor expenses, travel, entertaining and advertising into Distribution cost. The Taxfiler has them under Admin cost as distribution cost doesn't have a breakdown at all, only single figure is inputed.
Shall I carry on doing it as the old accountant so it gives comparative figure from last year or shall I change it and change last year as well?

I thought that Taxfiler only did an agent version of the CT600/Accounts prep? Seems like an expensive solution to file one tax return!!

In any case, I don't think the items you describe should be distribution costs so I would go with admin expenses.
