Is Dropbox right for your client comms? Webinar...

Didn't find your answer?

Do people agree that CUBBY is superior to dropbox?

Go and have a peek , i love it  - in particular if you open and change a file on your desktop then thru syncing it keeps the old versions with the same file name in the cloud - brilliant

Information assurance

I am mid flow on a sequence of blog articles in the blog section on this site which is talking about such matters.

https://www.accountingweb.co.uk/blog/information-assurance-and-it-security-all-you-need-know

I won't repeat the blog here but consider that while drop box is a fine tool you might like to add in some protection such as encryption for drop box to make sure your client data has suitable protection.

As a mechanism to communicate with your client base though it is perhaps a poor choice.  Better to use a more structured approach or a tool such as ours which allows you to securely email content to clients without extra tools being involved.

Also, take a look at this link as it shows the kinds of mess you can get into if you make an error configuring access.

Covered ad nauseam already ...

on this site

There have been some good postings by @merlyn & others - so not sure whether @simon.freeman needs to cover this again - lookup existing threads

Believe the upshot of was - depends upon the data but generally if secure data is required Dropbox is not the medium
