Dumb question

Dumb question

Didn't find your answer?

I'm making an early years loss relief claim. HMRC have advised me to do this separately from the tax return so I've written a letter.

Do I need to tell HMRC how to repay my client ie. will they send a cheque or use the repayment details from her tax return or do I need to add a paragraph to the letter?

Thank you

Add a paragraph

Looking to see if any bank details have been entered on the last tax return is far too joined up for HMRC.  If they update a standing database from a tax return with "This customer wants tax repayments to bank account XYZ", you might be lucky, but the default would be a cheque - sorry! "payable order" in HMRC-speak.
