EIS 1 form

EIS 1 form

Didn't find your answer?

SEIS form is clear that authorised agent can sign, is it ok to sign the EIS 1 form as the authorised agent?

Are you authorised?

You might be authorised to deal with HMRC regarding their tax affairs but are you authorised to sign on behalf of the company? Would you feel comfortable signing their tax return? I suspect not.

That is even before considering you would be leaving yourself personally exposed if any of the information on the form proves incorrect. There is no "to the best of my knowledge" or " based on information supplied to me" on the form. You are stating unequivocally that it is correct.

Thanks for your reply stepurhan.  The SCEC guys have just confirmed it is ok for the authorised agent to sign, but I take on board your point.
