Hi
One of my corporate client, husband and wife director and equal share holders. I did company accounts for y/e march 2014 and 2015 taking director salaries less than LEL.
From 01 April 2015 we decided to pay each director £10600 annually and when I was in the process of registering paye scheme we realised that wife -director does not have her NI number but she have a right to work in UK. Obviously, we applied for her NI and got before end of April 2015.
I got her UTR and now I have to file her 2014 and 2015 tax returns. As mentioned earlier we paid her salaries less than LEL for 2014 and 2015. Will there be any issue for not having NI number?
Regards

Probably not in the short term but if she wants to claim a pension she'll need one.
I take it she's foreign ? From what country ?
It's not a big deal. Make an appointment at the Jobcentre and they'll tell you what to bring in. The lady has to go personally because they'll check that she looks like the picture in her passport.
Problem
Not sure what your problem is then.
You say she hasn't got an NI number but she's already got one ......
I see
She got her NI number in April 2015. I was concerned for tax years ending 14 and 15. Thanks for your response.
In that case, the problem is ensuring that her pension record is updated for 2014 and 2015.
