Forecasting Software

Forecasting Software

Didn't find your answer?

I have used Winforecast/Sage 50 Forecasting for many years. I really like the product. I understand Sage will stop supporting it soon and as we all know the product hasn’t really moved on.

I need a very similar product to pass down to 5 CFOs so they can create business models for new business ventures. We are a small product development group with a continual stream of new business opportunities. There are maybe 5 users and 5 reviewers

I need

1. consistency (similar look and feel, similar reporting)

2. accuracy/integrity (self balancing, no Excel errors)

3. reusability (instant what if scenarios, instant reports – PL, BS, CF, FF; year, qtr, mth; variances)

4. flexibility (excel hot links, easy to set up, many ways of calculating loans, investments, sales, leases, etc)

These CFOs are

1. standalone so they make the forecasts/models and report to a group team

2. there is limited fighting over budgets, between departments, etc

3. we are not worried about historic data

4. it is unlikely we will want to use the software to create actual management accounts or link to an accounting system once the business gets started – this is purely for say preparing financial forecasts to back up a business plan for an investor

Can you recommend a product?ards

Migration steering group on Linked In

Dear Andrew,

Well Keen Limited is a software reseller and have helped clients to forecast with Sage 50 Forecasting, Winforecast, Excel and our own product called “foreCASH”.

I have set-up a ‘steering group’ on Linked In for current users of Sage 50 Forecasting that have successfully migrated from Sage 50 Forecasting or who wish to guide the development of foreCASH that may prove of interest as people find alternative solutions .

https://www.linkedin.com/groups/Winforecast-Sage-50-Forecasting-Migration-8235018

The aim is to co-ordinate advice and experience as people migrate to other products and you may be interested in joining the group. In the coming weeks I will provide a summary comparison of any products that people recommend.

foreCASH has many of the capabilities of Sage 50 Forecasting including lots of options for loans and leases.  The program gives self-balancing/ checking reports for P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Funds Flow.

foreCASH was initially developed as a ‘cash focussed’ forecasting product giving clients weekly and daily cash views and the ability to re-schedule payments and receipts.

In response to Sage’s phasing out of the Sage 50 Forecasting we are extending the products capabilities to address areas of more general forecasting needs such as linking to Excel sources and more advance flexing/what-if scenarios.

If you are able to continue using Sage 50 Forecasting for the next 3-6 months, foreCASH may provide a migration option for you later in the year.

If you are interested in evaluating the product our website includes some brief recordings and offers a free software trial www.foreCASH.co.uk

forecasting software

Have a look at www.castawayforecasting.com.au

This was developed by one time winforecast re-sellers and is supposedly better than winforecast

(I have no connection with the castaway organisation)
