Hi,
I am starting to get a lot of enquiries from forreign individuals who wish to set up a company in the UK. Does anyone know of any good sources/text books which would be a starting point for that type of work? Thanks.

Not one source of info
The first thing I would say if you are getting “a lot" of enquiries from overseas is to be careful that you are not being caught up in a VAT fraud.
Having said that, although I do deal with clients in this situation I don't know of a single source covering all of the information you would require.
HMRC do have a good section on their website relating to the PAYE obligations as well as the VAT implications of the particular company concerned so I would always suggest using the HMRC sites as the first point of reference.
Tolley's Tax Planning
Is a good starting point with several relevant chapters.
It can be a very complex area especially if the companies are controlled and owned by non residents. In which case it would be worth seeking expert assistance, at least on the first one. Alternatively, it will be more straightforward if the individuals have immigrated to the UK as permanent residents.
