I have an interview coming up for a forensic accounting position and I'm just wondering can anyone please point me in the right direction of latest news/updates in forensic accounting as I've struggled to find anything substantial online. Thanks.

I cannot believe you cannot find anything online. There's lots of news based on just one search I have done.
Anyone see the irony of someone going for a forensic accountant job but can't perform a basic Google search?
Do you mean civil or criminal or both? Are you being interviewed for a role assisting larger businesses prevent fraud losses or pursue claims against third parties, or a 'government' job pursuing wrong-doers, or joining (or advising) solicitors / barristers acting for claimants or defendants in legal proceedings or something else?

Or, perhaps more likely, a job working in the forensic department of a firm of accountants.
Insurance firm?
It sounds like it could be for an insurance company.
A key aspect may be obtaining documentary evidence & evaluating it. Is it reliable? Is it complete? What conclusions can properly be drawn from it?
A lot of that is common sense from your experience of dealing with accounting records.
Have a Google re fraud & forensic accounting.
There is of course also the money laundering & crime discussion group on AccountingWEB.
