New PAYE Scheme Problems

I have set up a number of new schemes for the 2016/17 tax year, when I go to file my first FPS for them I am getting the same error saying my HMRC log in credentials are wrong. Double checked by filing an FPS for an exsisting company, everything worked fine.

Can anyone think of anything HMRC might have done to the new PAYE references to make them refuse to file?! 

I have double checked the PAYE references are correct, and everything looks fine so I can only assume either HMRC have sent out junk references or they haven't properly set these ones up. Anyone else having trouble? 

I use Iris Payroll Professional in case that matters.

Hi

We are having the same problem.

It appears that the schemes we set up at the end March are fine, but anything setup in the new tax year are failing.

We are using Sage and they cannot help us.

Good old HMRC. 

They appear to have only half set up new PAYE schemes, setting them up and sending out references, but then not registerinng them on their online systems.

The error messages suggest its the username and password which are incorrect, which they aren't because submissions for longer standing schemes are working fine.

HMRC refuse to provide any helpful advice because we aren't authorised for PAYE yet, but as we all know that takes at least 3 weeks waiting for codes to be sent etc.

So for now for PAYE schemes set up this year, the answer is....wait and hopefully it will work.
