FPS or EPS

FPS or EPS

Didn't find your answer?

I have a limited company client on Moneysoft with one director/employee. He has not drawn a salary for several months. HMRC request that, where no employees have been paid in a particular month, an EPS is filed for that month rather than an FPS.

Moneysoft only gives me the option of filing an FPS. It does state on that FPS that no employees have been paid and the online filing is acknowledged by HMRC. Is this ok?

Yes, believe so,

I've always done it that way with no issues.

At the year end you will have to do an EPS as well, Moneysoft will prompt you that it is needed.

Nil FPS v. EPS

If an employee has been set up on the payroll and hence, notified to HMRC as a starter, Moneysoft will always schedule a nil FPS for filing.  Only if no employees have been set up will it schedule a nil EPS.
