I have a client who wants to switch to Xero, they are incorporating the business so would need to switch subscriptions anyway I imagine, but they would like access to the data for historical purposes (price comparisons etc).
What have other people done in similar instances? I suppose the sole trader data could be imported into Xero for comparison purposes only but could get a little messy?
Any opinions welcome, thanks.

Two subscriptions?
This is always the problem when software is charged on a time basis.
They can always export the date and refer to it in the raw form if it will get too messy in Xero.
I would just keep a record. Historical comparisons are overrated.

Email FreeAgent's support. Whilst I think it's not an official offering, on a fair few cases we've seen them mark an account as "read only", whereby the user can continue to access the data to see stuff, but can't make any changes...and I believe they do this for free. Admittedly where I've seen this it's typically been (say) a sole trader FreeAgent user wanting to become a Ltd Co FreeAgent user, rather than moving to a different provider (may or may not be relevant!).
Alternatively there's the data export feature which chucks everything into a CSV. Not the most user friendly thing, but it's all there.
Alternatively still just do screen prints/similar of all the relevant pages you think they might need.
Query only on a related theme...why not use FreeAgent for the Ltd Co? What do they feel Xero offers that FreeAgent doesn't? (disclosure - I have no direct financial involvement with FreeAgent but freely admit we work closely with them)
