Swap from ftax to taxfiler?

Swap from ftax to taxfiler?

Didn't find your answer?

I have used ftax for several years now and have not been over enamoured by it.  Each year I tell myself I'll look around properly then end up sticking with it as I have to do something quickly and don't end up making the time to look around.

I have had a quick look this year and see taxfiler, which seems to have good reviews.  Does anyone have anything negative to say about it, other than the keying in of data again in the first year?

I like the fact that you can file 50 or unlimited returns of any type which is more flexible than having to buy set numbers of credits for each return.

Also, I can't see that it will import data from VT, does anyone know if this is the case?  If not, taxfiler - please support the generic Standard Name Format so that this can happen!

Anyone have any comments on taxfiler?

Thanks

Give it a try

It has a free demo available. There is nothing better than trying it out for yourself, as then you know exactly what you are buying.

I have just changed from FTax

I have worked with FTax for a few years and have just subscribed to Taxfiler.  It seems much more straightforward than FTax and I Iike the fact that you can use all the different tax returns without having to buy a separate subscription for each.  I can't answer all your questions, but so far have found it a lot less hassle than FTax, you don't have to worry about importing IRMarks, you don't have to keep emailing yourself with tax returns and calculations, you can just save the pdf directly to your computer!  So far no problems.  Good luck

Data

Actually, the first year / static data takes very little time to enter.

I'm new to Taxfiler but, so far, I like it very much.

Only thing I miss from PTP is the "client shares address with" feature which allows you to lift related client's address when setting up another family member or company etc.

Sounds positive
Thank you all. I have had a look through the online demo and it seems decent. I think I will go for it.

So far so good

I just thought I would update that I have subscribed to taxfiler and filed some SA100s and CT600s.  So far so good, it seems to be a positive change.
