Full Payment Submission (FPS) late payment penalty

Full Payment Submission (FPS) late payment penalty

Didn't find your answer?

Has anyone received a GNN from HMRC re Full Payment Submission (FPS) Late Filing penalty when you submitted the FPS on time?

I submitted FPS on 29 June for payment on 30 June. I have the email received from GG on the 29th and payroll software (myPAYE) has payment date at 30th.

Before I start calling HMRC / myPAYE, I just wanted to check if it is a general error or that there is some other issue.

I have had the late filing notice, but not a penalty.

I've never been able to figure out why I received the notice, and HMRC couldn't explain it to me either.

If I believe I've done the right thing, I check to make sure I have, and if so I ignore the notices.  I don't have the time to confirm every single one.

Having said that, I'm getting fewer than I was so hopefully that's them fixing their mess.

Thanks M.

Do they send a copy to the client? I just want to email the client to prepare them as these things give them hernias.

There was an issue with the gateway system around the end of June; we ended up getting several response emails for FPS' sent once.  There were also incorrect penalty notices, I scan the client a copy and email them to let them know that it is a HMRC error (emphasis on the HMRC part) and to let me know if they receive anything - as far as I am aware though, the client doesn't receive a copy
