Getting accountant job with foreign BA

Getting accountant job with foreign BA

Didn't find your answer?

Hello,

Currently I'm studying financial accounting at university in Lithuania and after graduation I would like to work in United Kingdom. I have been thinking a lot about studies in UK, but at the end chose to study in my home country because the cost of living is a lot cheaper here and I could focus more to my studies instead of working unqualified job while studying in UK to be able to pay for higher cost of living.

So I would like to ask is it hard to get accountant's job in UK with foreign (Lithuanian) bachelor's degree? What additional training/courses I would need to complete to be able to work as an accountant in UK?

Thank you in advance,

Domas

You will just have to jump through the additional hoop of showing that your foreign degree is of an equivalent standard to a UK degree.  All the firms you might want to train with will be familiar with the procedure for doing that. I believe there is an independent body that does it.

As your first language is presumably not English you will also have a language competency hurdle to get over.
