Giving data/money laundering problem

If you or an organisation you are a volunteer for put on say a dance on the village green you have to apply for a temporary event notice (TEN), a copy of this notice goes to the police, the licensing section of the local council and the environmental section of the local council.

They ask for the organisers, name, former names, date of birth and national insurance number,  surely giving out this type of information to local authorities and police is a very leaky sieve.  However it is something you have to do to get a TEN

Any thoughts
