Has anyone tried calling HMRC to get tax on dividends put in code?

Has anyone tried calling HMRC to get tax on...

Didn't find your answer?

H&W. Both crap with money. Would prefer to pay higher PAYE and then less under SA.

Tried calling the agent line about the wife -the simpler of the two as she doesn't have any coding restrictions already.

Just trying to put an amount restricted so massive K code. Ultimately tax will be restricted to 50%.

Agent line man couldn't understand so put me through to someone else - turned out to be on the muppet /ordinary public line. Put me on hold whilst he checked and then put the phone down.

So I'm just using the code that I think it should be.!

Has anyone called and said "I don't want an 1100L code I want to K1100 (or whatever)" and had any success.

I'm pretty sure it will cause problems with RTI if you use a code other than what HMRC have issued. I would call the agent line again and hope for someone less muppety, it should be fairly simple to sort out.
