We updated our Top Up Tax software last Friday for the 2014/15 tax year, and tried several times to submit clients tax return, but we keep on getting error messages.
Spoke to Top Up support and we were dismissed with a standard reply "your server settings have been changed", which is why we are getting the error message.
We havent changed anything (none of us are technically capable) and the problem has started since updating to the latest version. However, we still asked our IT support company to investigate, and they have reported no changes to our server, and are also baffaled.
We thought there might be a problem with the HMRC servers / systems for maintenance etc, but no such notification on HMRC website. We have been and are filing RTI reports and havent experienced any issues, which indicates that there are no issues with the HMRC servers / systems
We have again contacted Top Up support and left a voicemail to contact us to resolve this issue.
Anyone else experiencing similar issues?
Any suggestions as to what else might be the problem? Or what we could do?

Some software might need re-input of ID & PW
I guess that some online filing software might require re-input of agent user ID and password, so I suggest that this is worth checking within the software.
Is it one client return that is failing, or several? If it's just one then it is possible that it not the credentials that are the problem.

Ask them what settings have been changed. I would think that you are right when you say that it's a standard reply. Time to go elsewhere.
2015 Tax Returns?
Are HMRC accepting 2015 Tax Returns yet?
I thought I read on another thread that they would not be updating their systems until 25/26 April.
@Euan
HMRC started accepting 2015 returns on 6th April. The update on 28/29 April (originally 25/26 April) is a separate technical update which means that the Gateway will be unavailable overnight.
