Help with Company Accounts Disclosure Checklists?

Didn't find your answer?

Hi,

Does anyone know where you can download up-to-date ones for free from a reliable source?

Or do most people pay for them? Sorry but I honestly don't know...

We pay for these

Like all these things someone has to spend time updating and publishing them so only fair that they receive payment for their time and trouble.

Surely some reliable source (e.g. ICAEW) must offer them for free?

Otherwise how can these publishers like CCH know exactly what should go into the disclosure checklist in the first place?!

Unfortunately its about hard work or putting your hand in your pocket.

Mind you if you use decent software to prepare your statutory accounts it will do most of the hard work for you.

Disclosure checklist

I have written disclosure checklists for a training provider and the way we know what to put in them is by studying the requirements of the Companies Act and the relevant accounting standards.  As Nichola Ross Martin rightly points out, these things take a huge amount of time and effort to write and update and I don't think any of the professional bodies offer these for free - it is up to the member firm to invest accordingly if they want to prepare accounts that are not falling short of the accepted standards.  If I saw the checklist I had written advertised for free, I'd be taking someone to task over it!

Kind regards

Steve

Its good to see some freeloaders back on AWeb, I'd nearly started to miss them!

Check out 2020, they do some reasonably priced products.
