A new client has come to me with a version 15 copy of sage line 50 multi company backup disk. He no longer uses Sage and doesn't have the program disks. The 2012 accounts data is on the disk and he needs a set of 2012 accounts producing.
I've spoken to Sage and they want me to buy a £750 version of Sage, the client won't wear that! None of my clients use Sage & I haven't bothered with Sage since 2007.
As I only want the Balance Sheet, P&L and the Nominal Ledger printout, is their a cheaper option?
I recall seeing something about using Sage Instant which would let you do this. Is this still a possibility?
I've also seen a "free" download from a company www.dl4all.com, does anyone know if this is safe?

You could buy Instant v2012 for around £100 and restore the data directly in to that and produce the relevant reports. Any download of Sage from the site you mentioned is not going to be genuine.

Is it still on the client machine
Even though the client no longer uses Sage, does he still have the program on his machine?
Could he not produce the reports for you - or you visit the client to get what you need.
Perhaps, if he says he has deleted the program, he may in fact just have deleted a desk top shortcut.
Worth a try,
