HMRC authorisation code

HMRC authorisation code

Didn't find your answer?

Requested authorisation as agent for new client, which is a ltd company. Code arrived at registered office which was sent to my firm and entered on agent section of HMRC website. The CT section shows the firm as having no requests for authorisation outstanding, but the company's name does not appear on the list of clients for whom we are acting. I appreciate that it might not take effect immediately, but does anyone know how long it takes before you are properly set up as agent with HMRC?

Filed anyway

Thanks for your response.

I put in the code on Monday and needed to file today. Still not acknowledged on the HMRC website but I filed the return anyway and received confirmation.

Seems that it is the entry of the code that is important rather than the name being on the list. You learn something every day.

gateway.gov.uk
Using your hmrc log in details, log into the above site and make sure that the client is allocated to a user. Once it is, you will see your client on your list.

Also you do not need confirmation to file a return! Unless I'm missing something...
