HMRC CT600 Share capital entry problem

HMRC CT600 Share capital entry problem

Didn't find your answer?

The company has no called up share capital to declare because it is a company limited by guarentee. However it says you must enter a value of 1 or greater in the called up share capital section? How do i get past this problem?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

It's apparently a well known problem with HMRC's software, which I understand (because I have never used it) no accountant worth his or her salt would ever use.

Best advice is not to use it.

Work around

Enter the share capital as 1 and reduce the P+L balance by 1.

Attach a PDF explaining to HMRC if you like but they're not too bothered either way.

Don't do this at CoHo, though.  Just for CT600.
