Hi everyone,
Realise this question is probably answered and debated every day here.
I've been issued a repayment by HMRC through self assessment.
It appeared on my SA account pending on the 21st and has changed to issued today (27th).
I called today and managed to get a BACS reference number.
How long will it take before it hits my account? I assume even if they are the HMRC it still follows BACS procedure of 3 working days maximum?
Thanks

Bank details on return
If your bank details were on the return it'll hit your account at about ten minutes past midnight tonight
I received a letter 21 days ago to say I was due to a tax refund and it would be in my bank within 14 days and it's now 21 days and not in my bank.do these cheques that are sent to banks by hrmc sometimes go missing?
They don't send cheques to the bank, it's all done electronically.
However, what does (frequently) happen is that the repayment gets held up in HMRC for security checks (the primary purpose of these is to satisfy themselves that it is not fraudulent either externally or within HMRC itself).
With the cut backs of staff, there are fewer repayment security officers, meaning longer waits for the poor taxpayers.
