Apologies if this question has alread been answered before.
Several clients have received aggressive debt collection calls this week from HMRC's debt collection agencies for non-filing of P35 returns and for not making any payments. These companies had nil returns and they were all filed on or before 19 May. Our clients are getting p***ed off with us thinking that we have not filed the returns, and we waste a lot of time explaining the situation to the clients and talking to HMRC to stop them from further collection procedures.
Has anyone got any ideas how we can stop the waste of time due to HMRC's incompetence?
End of Rant!

I have had the same problem and yes its very annoying as clients tend to assume you haven’t filed the return. Apparently HMRC are not going to process the Nil P35 returns until later in the year. Until then I guess we have to put up with it.
When you file a Nil P35 return you should have received an email confirmation. I tend to forward these to the clients concerned and ask them to be patient with HMRC !
Try using this to inform HMRC that no tax due
