How to balance partner and manager client contact?

Here is an interesting debate

Some of our partners like to have the contact with clients  - take phone calls etc on day to day matters and then get the managers to deal with them

 

some of our partners like client to contact the managers - and have very little client contact - if at all - unless this issue becomes complicated.

 

Each has benefits and drawbacks

 

Such as  -

 

Partners are less likly to leave and contact can be built up over time whereas if the manger leaves the contact and leave no one know what is going one!

 

Another partner will phone each client once a year to see how things are going
