I want Windows 7 PCs

I want Windows 7 PCs

Didn't find your answer?

I need to replace my Windows XP Desk top with a Windows 7 one. But all major shops seem to have stopped selling Windows 7. Can somebody advise where I can buy Windows 7 Desktop?

Thanks

Find an independent chap who assembles PC's to your spec and can install Windows 7.

The person I use also transfers all programs and data as part of the cost.

This is a legal copy of Windows 7 properly purchased in case you are wondering.

Yes I did order from Dabs. But it turned out to be a Windows 8 PC downgraded to 7. I returned it.

What's the issue with downgrading from Windows 8 to 7?

No reason apart from the fact that I thought this may have technical issues. Just being paranoid, I suppose.

Windows 7

PC World for Business can still supply - I recently bought a Wondows 7 laptop (limited choice, though).

no problem at all

go to pcspecialist.co.uk

choose your own spec.

have bought off them for last 10 years now. although last time had to wait quite a while, but machine was well built.

had a hard disk failure on one, but luckily I had a RAID system installed so was able to continue uninterrupted.

Also would advise to go for solid state drives, as faster and more reliable.

I bought new machines
Which came with Windows 8.1 installed but my IT support guys downgraded them to windows 7 as better for office use. Was simple process and they did t even charge us to do it.

Had no bother since.

Microdream

I bought from Microdream last October. Although the PC is refurbished, it has a new HD and RAM, with Win 7 pre-loaded, so there's no issue with downgrading from Win 8.

Why?

I am just curious why you want to stick to Windows 7. Windows 8.1 is much better than Windows 7 as it is faster and more stable and you can boot straight to the desktop so you do not need to use the Metro/Modern interface - this makes it very similar to Windows 7.

I did not know you could make it look similar to Windows 8.

Thanks for all the replies. Really helpful

Windows 7 versus 8

Try this link to an earlier thread:

https://www.accountingweb.co.uk/anyanswers/question/windows-xp-support-e...

The consensus seems to be for Windows 7 Pro.

Get the latest

I see it as a mistake to go for an old operating system.  By definition it will come to the end of its life quicker.  If you really hate Windows 8 (and who doesn't?), then perhaps think about installing classicshell to give you a more familiar experience.
