Importing Clydesdale Bank Stataments into Sage...

Didn't find your answer?

Hi

I would like to import Clydesdale Bank csv. statements into Sage 50 Accounts 2014 but I am unsure of the process.

Could anyone provide any guidance?

Many thanks

Can't be done

Sage 50 accounts is not set up to do this. Why did you think it was?

I thought any bank statement could be uploaded to Sage 50 if it was in csv format?

Workaround

It can, but sometimes only via a workaround that changes the CSV into another format.

Sage say that they can deal with Clydesdale Bank files here (https://my.sage.co.uk/public/sage-ebanking/compatible-banks.aspx). The relevant excerpt is given below:

Clydesdale Bank (National Australia Group)Product NameSage 50 Accounts
Sage200
Sage Instant Accounts
Sage Start-upSage 50 PayrollRTI BACS Hash sub-referenceClydesdale Business Online - Bacs Cr (Download plug-in)PaymentsYesReconciliation /
Statement download Clydesdale Faster Payment- EFT (Download plug-in)PaymentsNot requiredReconciliation /
Statement download

I'm not sure what format this imports into Sage and it may be that Clydesdale would charge additional to provide you with the file format in question.

If your current banking arrangements do not cover this file for free, I have a workaround that will convert a CSV bank statement into a Danske Bank (formerly Northern Bank) format file. Sage will quite happily let you associate the Danske Bank plug-in with your Clydesdale bank account and upload the converted CSV statements. I'd be happy to share the workaround conversion file with you if you were interested.

I hope this helps

File Available

One of the download options in the Clydesdale's download menu is for Sage. I haven't tried it though so I couldn't tell you if it works.

e-Banking

What about Sage's e-Banking add-on? Not that I've used it but doesn't that let users download bank statements/transactions directly into Sage Accounts?

I think Quick Books has a Bank feed facility, but I do not know how much do you need to pay to use this module.
