Incorporation of a taxi business

Incorporation of a taxi business

Didn't find your answer?

Never done an incorporation of a taxi business before.

The partnership has about 8 vehicles on the fleet. One is definitely the family car but is defo used for taxi work too, has a "plate", is on the fleet insurance. Another car has private use too.

Other cars are, I'm told, not used for PU.  All drivers are self employed (on the whole their earnings are below NI limit anyway. And the car are kept at mostly my client's home (work base).

Normal principle viz cars is not to transfer the cars with any PU into the company and then to pay for their respective costs personally, mileage claim blah blah.

But all cars are on the fleet insurance?  Is it a case of disclaiming this amount of insurance? But what about an accident in that family car if it was on taxi business?

Presumably client needs to change ownership at DVLA too? VN5 or something?

Any other advice on this "grey area" that is taxis and company cars / vehicles?
