Intrastat Customs Codes

Intrastat Customs Codes

Didn't find your answer?

I have a client who has reached the threshold for Intrastat. The client exports packages which consist of one main item and then other ancilliary items that go with it. The main item could be a car dashboard but the package may include a steering wheel or perhaps smaller ancilliary items which have different customs codes.

Is there anyway that the entire package could be deemed to be of one single customs code to make the completion of the Intrastat return easier, otherwise the client is spending a lot of time splitting out these items into codes and weights.

Any comments appreciated

Try TARIC online help

HMRC maintain an EU commodity code system called TARIC [google it and it will pop up]

Use the description option and you may be able to find a "shorthand" commodity code to use.
