I recently Purchased a new office Computer in Currys. I asked them for a VAT receipt but was told this was not possible and all info was on the standard receipt. After looking at the receipt, it only contains their VAT No. There is no VAT Breakdown, the purchase was over £600 so I'm under the impression that I can't use it as a simplified VAT Invoice.
Now I'm stuck, what do I do?
Thanks Advance :D

The receipt is not good enough
Contact Curry's head office and tell them what you want.

If they knew you were buying for a business they should have offered to supply you with a VAT invoice (but would also have offered to open you a business account, send you emails whenever the sales director scratches his nose, etc. etc.!)

Tell them you'll complain to HMRC if they don't give you a receipt.
To be fair, you've obviously spoken to some knaw-all-knaw-nowt in the branch.
