Late reg of CIS scheme

Late reg of CIS scheme

Didn't find your answer?

New client registered CIS scheme over phone 2 weeks ago. We now have ref numbers and I applied for agent status a week ago when he became a client.

I've just spotted he paid his first CIS invoice in Feb, so have instructed him post haste in how to pay over CIS - so that at least will be on time.

Although I ordered paper CIS statements from HMRC a few days ago, they won't get here in time for 19 March deadline.

So neither I nor client can file online and we have no paper statements. Do you think HMRC will take the data over the phone (I doubt it very much).

What are your recommendations for submitting this info to avoid the fine for late submission?

thank you both

The third party software would be a good idea if I was going to use that. Very good point.

As they are only likely to have the same subbie each month (ltd co) I will use HMRC ghastly tools for now.

Client won't get pin number by 19 March and probably I won't either, so have told client to expect £100 fine and we will appeal. I'll quote my telecon with CIS helpline this afternoon (after I posted question on here) who told me no way around it.

Pity I didn't get to client earlier.
