Depends what you want out of it?

I've known people go for it because it will help them get the job they want and one got it just so he could get a green card in the USA.  Others take it more for the academic experience or just for the qudos of the letters (expensive letters).

Back in the nineties I went instead for a Diploma in Management which I guess is similar to the MBA stage 1, with the idea that if it was worthwhile It would be a stepping stone to a MBA.

Cutting a long story short, I didn't complete it as the firm I was working for broke up however I loved it and the real eye opener was the marketing and people management modules and those alone have paid dividends in work within our business and with clients.

Other higher degrees

Not sure if this is relevant, but it used to be the case that some Universities offered MSc courses aimed at qualified accountants - with fewer modules and hence lower cost.

When I looked a few years ago they were about £3k.

Again - may be a bit narrow for what you are looking for.
