Moneysoft - email payslips direct to staff?

Didn't find your answer?

2 quetsions really, is it a) possible to email payslips direct to staff, and b) possible to do it via an Exchange server?

If A is possible but not via an Exchange server is there anything I could go as a workaround?

SMTP

From memory Moneysoft can be setup to work with SMTP so you just set the servername to that of your exchange server, leave the port as 25.

If your exchange server is setup to need authentication then you will also need to fill in your email address/password.

not sure that you can email them individually tho without saving

we put them on screen and then save as pdfs and either zip up and send to company or occasionally  on smaller clients email the staff individually

Yes, you can send direct

You can set up individual members' email addresses and send directly from Moneysoft.  You can also set a password for each member to protect the form when emailed.  I think that the ICO have rattled their sabres about emailing personal data like payslips in unprotected files

SMTP

We use an exchange server but payslips are emailed direct to the employees & CIS certificates to subbies without going through the exchange server. Details for a designated email account are entered directly into Moneysoft with the smtp settings.

@carnmores yes it will send the appropriate payslip to each individual providing you've put their email address in their details, no email address and it just doesn't send - at that point we tend to put the clients email address in so they can forward the payslip on.

Oh I didnt realise you could use SMTP via an Exchange account, I thought they were 2 completely different things.  Ive entered the settings into Moneysoft and they work perfectly!

One query I have however is that I would like to cc in the owner of the business so he can keep track of them and always give them a copy if they delete it or something!  I notice in the email settings box that there is an "Always CC" address box which does exactly what I want however doing it this way means that I can't tick the box that applies the email settings to all payroll files.  Is there a way to achieve what I want or will I just have to manually enter the details into new files?

They are

Exchange is an email server system and SMTP is a mail protocol which is used to send emails between systems.

As most of the email servers in the world use SMTP, Exchange server supports SMTP so you can also use it when setting up systems which need SMTP details for sending of emails (like Moneysoft).

Can't help you on the other query I'm afraid as it's been a very long time since I used Moneysoft.

Payslips email to employer

When you click the mail icon to email the payslips I get the option to email to the employer as either multiple pdf or single pdf - this will then send the payslips to the employer on one email rather than them being cc'd into every email!! This presumes you have set up an email address for the employer in the employer details section.

Hope that helps!

ePayslips via eDocdeposit

If you visit the website eDocdeposit  in the download section.

eDocdeposit provides a handy tool/uploader  to sent your moneysoft payslips to the internet. This system means you don't need to maintain email addresses for the employees.

As eDocdeposit will generate a PIN for each employee and they can then get their payslip online.

Very secure and less troublesome than email as employees tend to change email addresses too often!
