Moneysoft payroll

Moneysoft payroll

Didn't find your answer?

I use moneysoft payroll to file monthly returns for a CIS Contractor. They have no employees this year, but did have one last year but they left half way through 2013/14. I file the monthly CIS return on or before the 19th of each month. However the software indicates that a monthly EPS form must also be filed by the 5th of every month i.e. before the CIS return is due. If I file the EPS form for April by the 5th May, then I am unable to then file the CIS return for April due 19th May as Moneysoft locks that month. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

All you need to do is click on the padlock sign in the ribbon and that will unlock the month.

I have the same problem with several of my CIS clients

Or ...

... file the CIS300 return by the 19th, immediately followed by the nil EPS which is not technically due until between the 6th (although it can be filed before that) and the 19th.  Otherwise, just un(pad)lock the month as sholman says.

Or if there are unlikely to be any employees in future, ask HMRC to change the PAYE scheme to an XP one for sub-contractors only, in which case you will not need to file any further RTI reports.
