MS Outlook 2010 not saving sent emails

MS Outlook 2010 not saving sent emails

Didn't find your answer?

Just returned from a weeks holiday and having sent a few emails this morning I see they arent saving in the sent folder.

I've checked the settings in Outlook and nothings changed - its set to save sent emails in the sent file.

Its really odd because I see them go to the sent file for a second or so and then they disappear.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Monday is not going to be fun if I cant sort this out.

Many thanks

auto archive
Not in front of outlook so can't check if this is possibly. Is there an auto archive setting?

Check rules

Have a look at your rules to see if  rule is deleting stuff from sent items as soon as it arrives there. Could have been created by a malicious script.

Do you have a web email address?

I had the same problem with ones sent through Outlook 2010 from my web email address (as opposed to my private btinternet.com one). I checked my settings on 1&1 & whatever I did worked. No problems since. I can't remember exactly what I did on 1&1 (which I know isn't helpful) but have a look in the settings for saving / deleting sent emails because that would be where I looked. I certainly didn't do anything whizzy to sort it because frankly I'm not that techno-savvy!!

Work around

Thanks all, no idea what's happened but I've changed the folder in which sent emails go to, using the main sent file, rather than my personal one eg happy @ happy.co.uk sent file, and it's working.

Really puzzled as I just cant see why but at least it's working.
