Mulitple LLP Partners and Limited Companies

Under the relaxed associated company rules, would partners of an LLP each having their own Ltd Companies still be associated?

I assume they would be caught under the "same trade" rules which is my reading of 2011 finance act.

That is to say if there are 5 partners of the LLP I would say they all have ‘substantial commercial interdependence’ between the companies given the trade is the same in each company.

Just wanting to make sure I read that right or I am going to look pretty silly if I tell him the main rate would apply.....!
