My New Years’ resolution is

My New Years’ resolution is to use the phone more. It’s not that I don’t like speaking to people, it’s that I would rather speak to them face-to-face. It holds me back at times, I know this but I still struggle to pick the phone up at times. If the office is empty I don’t have a problem with using the phone, but when people are in it makes me feel self-conscious.

2013 will hopefully bring me some more exam passes, and in turn more responsibilities at work.

Best Year for a while

Hi

Here was the best bits for me.  I never have New years resolutions as you set yourself up for failure I always start changes in the summer.   Best not to remember the worst bits.

Next year I want to be chosen as a games maker for the common wealth Games in 2014.  I will take as much time off as I need it is once in lifetime.   Also I have booked the whole family in for the new Glasgow  Veledrome in 2013 bit of a waiting list.

My Fav bits of 2012

The Queen visiting Ireland and Dublin  (Been Irish , time for change . I felt very moved.)

Going to the Pageant to see the Queen on the River Thames ( a moment for the history books) .   Seeing my boy very excited.

Tour de France    (Wiggans  Wow)

Olympics  Andy Murray.  Katie Granger  Chris Hoy, KatieTaylor , Nicole Adams, Phelps . Mo farah  . Usain  Bolt .  Equestrian Team.

Over two months of crying got very little  work done.

Paralympics   : Elle Simmons.  Jason Smith . David Weir , Peacock .  Ireland winning so many medals ( Better than the Olympics) .

George square Glasgow return of the Olympic and Paralympics men and women.   Watching the youngsters campaigning for the 2018 Youth Olympics bid in Glasgow.

The Opening of the Glasgow Veledrome with Chris Hoy and the feeling of  excitement of the Scottish kids for the common wealth games 2014 (My Favorite )   .  Definitely an Olympic Legacy.

Getting the news about my new office and premise and feeling a new lease of life.   Really excited for the future of the practice.  My young one is a bit older.

England Beating New Zealand ( that one does kill me as an Irish Rugby Fan but a great moment for Northern Rugby.

Sorry all sport I do love my work but 2012 and next few years will be overtaken my sport.

Boost to the economy, really?

Although I enjoyed the games as much as anyone else, it cost us an arm and a leg. I feel sorry for people that lived around the Olympic games that had to put up with the chaos, most of which couldn’t even get tickets for the games.

Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014

Hi

Just really happy today.  Some may know that Glasgow 2014 had 50800 apply to be a volunteer and fill out the application.

I got into the last 25000 so I was pretty chuffed .  I had my interview today and there was a real buzz . One of two women and the rest men.   The interview took an hour and I think I did well.  I was smartly dressed wish was lucky because so was everyone else.  Even though they told us to be casual.  I quite liked that everyone was really excited and friendly but competitive as well.

Anyway I am excited as I got interviewed for sports competition to be around the athethes and players, so hopefully I will get to see some sport and I wont be like the poor volunteer in London that got to see nothing.

Kind regards Sarah Douglas.
