Just taken a client on, left his old accountant over payroll issues.
Basically, client believed there was a scheme in place last yr and the accountant was handling RTI, accountant didn't set anything up. Client posted £833.33pm into the books throughout 14/15, arguments then occurred once he asked his ex-accountant how to pay the £245 NI that was owed.
If I get it setup now could I file an EYU for the full £10k? Client needs the year-end doing asap so need to make a decision on what to include.

Yes
But get an appeal ready - or even appeal preemptively against the inevitable penalty.
The fact that he engaged a professional who told him that the job was being done should be sufficient grounds.
