Hello,
I was approached by a new client ad visited his home address (well, he was living with a friend following a break up at the time). I quickly reviewed the books and records which seemed a little more than the usual sub contractor. I suggested I took the records back t my office to review further and give him a more accurate quote for the work required. After finding letters of years of unpaid NIC, CIS contractor letters from HMRC, apparently he was contracting other sub contractors and obviously making CIS tax deductions which have not been paid over, I gave a higher than usual quote, assuming there may be even more work ahead. I wrote several times to the address visited, and popped round by the 'client' is no longer there.
My question is what would you do with the records? I have 3 large boxes going back several years and if I could get paid for storage..........
Any ideas would be welcome thanks.

No -one seems to have any ideas....!!!
You've not issued an actual invoice so dont have a lien over the books.
Why dont you contact your institute and ask their advice?
You cant throw them away - they are not yours to do so.
